Long revered as the classic beginner’s shoe, the MadRock Flash is back and bolder than ever with a few new updates. The new Flash still rocks that classic orange color that everyone is familiar with, however this time, they have gone orange crazy! The all-leather uppers still sport the classic orange, but the piping and trims are now also that same vibrant tone. MadRock upped the ante with bright orange heel rubber as well.
Not all updates are cosmetic though. The Flash 2.0 also has a newer mix of rubber, which is just a tad stickier than on previous models. They have also introduced into the equation a heel with a “shock gel” insert that provides a touch of comfort for those who are newer to climbing and aren’t quite used to the restrictive nature of the climbing shoe yet. MadRock has also added a stiff bar that runs the length of the shoe to provide it an extra stiffness, similar to what you would find in the Five Ten Anasazis.
All in all, some good upgrades to a classic shoe. The Flash 2.0’s are available in our retail area, as are the updated women’s version of the Flash, the Onsight. If you have any questions or would like to offer feedback let us know in the comments below!
