Throw off your sneakers and get rid of those bags! The only Trick-or-Treating you should be doing this Halloween is at Aiguille at our Third Annual Dead Hang: A Halloween Affair Party & Competition. This competition, the theme will be set to portray a dark romantic feeling. Costumes are still a must, though, as the winner of this year’s Costume Contest will be receiving a prize from one of our sponsors!
Not only will we be having a Costume Contest, but what is an Aiguille competition anymore without JSHIH?! That’s right; JSHIH will be making those sick beats yet again at the Dead Hang! Don’t miss out on the Battle for the Paddle Ping Pong Comp that will be going on as well for those who need a rest from all the new bouldering problems!
This Dead Hang Comp, we will be doing something extra special to show our love for this fun holiday. Outside, there will be a Pumpkin Carving Competition, with generous donations from All Pro Dad from the Sanlando Pumpkin Patch. Aiguille’s sponsors for prizes will be Rock & Ice, Gramicci, Joshua Tree, Mad Rock, Outdoor Technology, Nemo, SoIll, Wild Country, Mix1, La Sportiva, Red Chili, and FiveTen. Our raffle will be held to support the Friends at Muir Valley. (You can find more information about them at http://www.friendsofmuirvalley.org/.)
The weather is forecasted to be “absolutely beautiful” on Friday, so the Bay Door will most likely be open. Climbers, prepare for some fresh air instead of that constant white lung we are so used to! Registration will be from 5:00pm – 7:00pm and climbing will go from 7:00pm until 11:00pm. Awards and raffle will be held after climbing until midnight. Prices are $15.00 for Members and $20.00 for Non Members.
